Lucid Lynx Beta Released

Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx beta1 has been released by Canonical and is available for download. Mind you though its still a beta release, so dont expect it to be glitch/bug free.

Upgrading (if you already have Ubuntu installed)

If you want to upgrade from your current installation to Ubuntu 9.10 beta1, press Alt+F2 and type the following:



update-manager -d


Update Manager will show you the following: New distribution release '10.04' is available. Click Upgrade and follow the on-screen instructions.

Downloading (if you want a fresh install or want to use the beta release as a Live CD) :


These links have ISO and torrent files. You need to burn the download file to a CD.

WARNING - @ubuntustatus is reporting people having broken nautilus and gnome panel after upgrading. Please be careful about upgrading. This doesnt affect the ISO downloads.

The Ubuntu developers have noted this and action is being taken.
